So, backing up a few gigabytes of data...takes a while.  Oh well.
Anyway, I broke down and decided I didn't feel like waiting until the final release, so I'm preparing to install the Dapper Beta release instead.  I'll let you know how it goes, once I take care of backups and trying to make that bloody Windows install take up less of the disk.  (I'll probably get rid of it someday, but I don't think I need to yet for the space, and since I paid for it anyway might as well have it for now.)
